The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test developed by the world’s leading experts in language assessment on four key English language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
It is designed to assess the language ability of people who aim to study and work in, immigrate to and integrate into an English-speaking environment.
Our IELTS Preparation Course is designed to help students prepare to take the IELTS Test. It is a 40-hour course (offered during evenings and weekends) over 4 weeks prior to each scheduled test date at Lakehead University. All 4 skill areas are covered: reading, writing, listening & speaking.
Lakehead University is a chosen site of the Maple Leaf Educational Systems-STEM Teacher Training Program. This program provides qualifying students graduating from our schools in China to study a special five-year education program at the University which will prepare them to return to China as qualified math and science teachers. Our high school students encounter many Maple Leaf Alumni on campus.
