Fostering Confidence, Character & Ethical Leadership

At Maple Leaf Schools, we truly believe today’s youth is the promise for a better tomorrow. Through focusing on global leadership and the personal development of our students, we believe great things can happen. Maple Leaf World Schools is committed to creating strong, ethical and successful global leaders of tomorrow. Our unique Global Leaders of Tomorrow diploma program is one of the cornerstones of the Maple Leaf student experience.  Through this program, students will be able to develop their own personalized leadership style that will help guide them through life’s journey. The diploma program has been developed by taking into consideration the latest research and development of education theory, practices and curricula. Our approach is one of a holistic nature which incorporates classroom learning, setting of personal goals, student life and individual personal time. Students will document their experience and personal growth through creating a portfolio of achievement.

Our diploma program is built on the development of eight leadership attributes while focusing on six areas of personal development. We believe that when combined these elements become essential building blocks to personal growth and the development of leadership skills.

A GLOBAL LEADER…

Has integrity – Having integrity means being honest and having clear and established ethics. Leaders with integrity have a strong moral compass that guides them in their choices, decisions and relations with others.


Is responsible – Being reliable, dependable or mindful are all different aspects of this important attribute.  A responsible leader is someone who is mature and accountable for both their words and deeds.


Is compassionate for self and others – Compassion is related to many of life’s other great virtues such as empathy and kindness. In life, having compassion includes being good-hearted and considerate in our daily interactions. Being compassionate includes loving yourself and forgiving of your shortcomings.

Is wise in thought and action – Wisdom is the careful application of knowledge, experience and good judgment. A wise leader strives for enlightenment and guidance in every aspect of both life and understand that their thoughts and actions may have long-lasting impact. 


Is open minded and adaptable – A successful leader is someone who is versatile, unprejudiced in their leadership and cooperates willingly. An open minded and adaptable leader works successfully with those whom may have different understandings, cultures, backgrounds or beliefs.


Is an effective communicator – Communication with others is an integral part of our daily lives. A good leader listens, observes, organizes their thoughts and thinks before speaking. Excellent communication is at the heart of being a successful leader.

Is industrious – Being a great leader includes a lot of hard work and dedication. Success does not come easy but it can be achieved through diligence, conscientious efforts and commitment. The best leaders in life lead through example and perseverance.

Is a visionary – A visionary leader sees the potential in life where others do not. A great leader inspires and lifts up and includes others in their goals and plans. They paint the picture of what is possible. A visionary leader embodies insightfulness, creativity and innovation.

SPIRITUAL

Our spirituality, in whatever form we choose to develop it, is a deeply personal pursuit. Spirituality can help ground us. It helps assist us in establishing solid foundations which allow us to withstand challenges and face life’s complexities. 

EMOTIONAL

In life, emotions are part of our daily existence. Emotions act as the fuel that drives us, motivates us and inspires us. By understanding our own emotions and the emotions of others, we are better able to understand and define our unique role in society.

PHYSICAL

When we take care of ourselves physically, we empower ourselves and become more capable of accomplishing our day to day activities. All of us can benefit from good health and the benefits that this brings to our lives. 

MENTAL

This area includes intellectual pursuits and cognitive development. Knowledge and the pursuit of knowledge is essential to our personal growth.

CULTURAL

Development in this area includes appreciation of the rich and diverse cultures around us. It also includes the development of traits and pursuits that can enrich our personal lives. Intercultural and cross-cultural understanding are essential components of personal cultural growth. 

SOCIAL

This area focuses on how we interact with others on a daily basis. Meaningful and healthy personal relation contribute to a sense of well-being and happiness. By building strong personal relationships we become better individuals and moreover add to building a healthy society. 

Global Leadership Portfolio & Program Recognition

The program is structured in a way to allow all students to opportunities to participate and succeed. Students will document their experiences through setting goals, creating a personal journal and the development of a global leadership portfolio. The goals students set will focus on the program’s eight attributes as applied the areas of personal development.

Students have the ability to receive recognition for each year of their studies with multiple levels of recognition available. Certificates of completion are provided and if a student successfully completes all three levels, students will receive the Maple Leaf Global Leaders of Tomorrow Diploma. More over for university application, students may use their portfolios, final projects, certificates/diploma to enhance their overall application package.
